MVS is seeking full and part time highly skilled Veterinary Assistants to be part of our Emergency team! This person must possess excellent communication skills, great attention to detail, and be very dependable.
Responsibilities and Duties:
-Exceptional customer service skills; helping clients and their pets in an effective, efficient and friendly manner.
-Strong client communication skills; working with team members to knowledgeably assist clients with the proper attitude, ensuring clients feel cared for and respected.
-Ability to multi task and work in a fast pace environment.
-Provide excellent telephone communications; engaged and actively listening so the client feels understood.
-Proficient with veterinary terminology
-Maintain the efficiency of the service by utilizing time management skills to recognize and complete tasks in a timely manner
-Set up and assist with orthopedic and soft tissue procedures
-Set up and assist with imaging procedures (radiology, CT)
-Cleaning and maintaining all surgical equipment
-Patient discharge and client education
-Perform other duties as assigned by the team lead
-Scheduling: Hours are variable; day shift, swing shift or overnight.
-Experience: Prior veterinary assisting experience with a high client volume veterinary practice.
-Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
-Physical: Must have the strength and stamina to work on feet throughout shift and lift up to 30 pounds. -Ergonomic: An employee in this position must be capable of safely working in environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials, infectious and zoonotic diseases.
An employee in this position must have a sense of caring for animals; be willing and available to stay late or through breaks, when needed, and assist clients with emergency or critical-care patients as needed. Maintain strict confidence regarding client and patient information. Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
-Greater than 1 years’ experience working in veterinary specialty and emergency as a veterinary assistant.
-Experience working with Infinity software.
