Veterinary Technician/Office Manager
DeForest Veterinary Clinic is a 100% small animal clinic that provides quality veterinary services for our community 8am – 5/6pm Mon – Fri and 8am -12pm Saturdays. Our client base is very friendly. We are looking to add a team player who is caring, reliable, trustworthy and has people skills to our team, full or part-time. The ideal candidate would be a certified veterinary technician, but this is not essential for the right person. Experience working in a veterinary clinic is essential for the management part of this position.
Our technicians have a wide range of responsibilities that include performing in-house diagnostic testing, radiology, patient care, surgery preparation, anesthetic monitoring, dental cleanings, client education and doctor assistance. We have a full in-house diagnostic laboratory, digital radiology, and digital dental radiology.
In addition to the duties of a technician, this position requires 5-10 hours of practice management each week. The successful candidate(s) will lead the team. They would be the “go-to” person(s) in the event of any management problems. They would take responsibility for a variety of duties, including but not limited to: hiring, inventory, vendor relations, equipment purchases/repairs, staff issues such as the working rotation, data entry for payroll, accounts payable, pensions, etc. Some of this may be done remotely if the candidate wishes, and these job duties may be shared with another technician to make the job easier and more enjoyable.
Starting remuneration: $20-$25/hour.
