Veterinary Information Specialist & Industry Representative-Full Time
Veterinary Information Specialist Description
The Veterinary Information Specialist position is responsible for responding to incoming cases on Pet Poison Helpline and SafetyCall’s industry side via the telephone, email, and chat applications regarding potential toxic exposures, poisonings and other adverse events from pet owners and veterinarians related to various household and consumer products, animal health products, plants, OTC products, dietary supplements, prescription drugs, and other chemical exposures. Specialists take full histories and details of the events, triage the cases and provide accurate medical, health and safety information to the callers. Specialists document each case in an electronic record and follow up as necessary to ensure the well-being of the animals and facilitate adverse event reporting on the industry side.
These positions are in a call center/office environment or remote from home if applicable. Given the nature of the positions, many pet owners and veterinary staff are calling under emergency or perceived emergency circumstances and are therefore in distress. Staff must be able to manage cases under pressure and be comfortable talking to people in various emotional states.
Full-time, 40 hrs/week. Positions do not have a set schedule. Shift times and shift days will vary and include weekends, typically 2 per month and up to 3 during our busy season, and some holidays. Available shifts are 8 ½ hours long and shifts range from 2pm-2:30amCST. While we may be able to work with some scheduling restrictions, flexibility in availability is highly preferred as we operate 24/7. Overnights are not required.
Industry Representative Description
The Industry Representative position is responsible for responding to incoming cases via the telephone regarding potential adverse events from pet owners and veterinarians related to various animal health products manufactured by an animal health client of SafetyCall. Industry Representatives provide answers to general inquiries on routine product use, such as clarification and information slated on product labels or inserts, and document lack of efficacy cases, product complaints, customer service and other inquiry cases. This position may also respond to and process product refund requests. Industry Representatives take full histories and details of the events, triage the cases and provide accurate medical, health and safety information to the callers. Industry Representatives must accurately document each case in an electronic record to facilitate adverse event reporting and to ensure the well-being of the animals. This position may also be trained to manage other types of calls and/or additional administrative or phone related tasks.
Schedule Full-time, 40 hours per week. Shifts will be 8 ½ hours varying between 9AM-7PM CST. Positions do not have a set schedule. Shift times and shift days will vary and include weekends, typically 2-3 per month and some holidays.
Required Experience, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
1. Active CVT/LVT/RVT License
2. 1+years of work experience in a veterinary clinic/hospital
3. At least one year of emergency/critical care experience preferred
4. Ability to work varying shift times and varying days, including weekends as specified above.
5. Proficiency with keyboarding and data entry, PCs, Microsoft Office, and common computer software and hardware.
6. Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, ratios and percentages
7. Excellent verbal and written communication that is clear, concise, professional and empathetic
8. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
9. Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
10. Customer service focused attitude and behavior

Hours needed are afternoons Monday- Friday but can be flexible.

WANTED: Certified Veterinary Technician
This is an advanced level position requiring extensive technical knowledge, skill and independence of action in support of the daily operational needs in all areas of the Green Bay and Allouez Animal Hospital.
If you read that as the job summary of a position you are looking for, please do not apply as that was the most boring introduction ever and we are not looking for boring! Yes, it is true…we are looking to bring on a new team member in the capacity of a certified veterinary technician. What we are really looking for is just the right person to fit into our practice culture.
Are you able to break out into dance and song at a moment’s notice or when the mood strikes? Can you laugh until you cry? Are you technologically proficient in Snapchat and Facebook so you can stay in communication with the team? Are you okay taking a nap with a recovering surgery patient? Do you like puss and maggots and all things gross? Is it hard to contain yourself to be the first to pick something? How is your aim? Because we like to occasionally have Nerf wars! Responsibilities (day-to-day activities include but are not limited to):
Educating clients about keeping their furry family members healthy
Holding furry friends for various procedures
Cheerfully greeting clients and answering the phone
Running cool lab/blood tests using our in-house Abaxis Laboratory Assisting with the exciting cases and treating hospitalized patients
Utilizing our computerized medical records in Infinity
Maintain a clean and healthy environment
Must have a license or certification to work as a Veterinary Technician and a minimum of an associate degree.
The will to grow and learn (no day is the same!).
Ability to hold a great conversation with almost complete strangers (a.k.a. an out-going person who loves people!).
Ability to perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, read fecal samples and ear discharge cytology, administer anesthesia, take radiographs, perform dental cleanings, etc. (a.k.a. the really fun stuff!)
Be a team player (because there is no ‘I’ in team!).
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
