Certified Veterinary Technician – Ozaukee Campus

Position Summary
Job Responsibilities
-Providing caring, compassionate, and detail-oriented care for shelter patients
-Correctly and efficiently executing treatments, diagnostics, and medication under the direction of a veterinarian.
-Maintaining detailed and accurate medical records in our animal management software
-Anesthesia induction and monitoring
-Surgery prep and post-operative care
-Calculating drug dosages
-Performing dental prophylaxis
-Performing diagnostic procedures such as venipuncture, radiographs, fecal floats, and urinalysis
-Vaccinating animals in accordance with organizational protocols.
-Maintaining and cleaning surgical equipment
-Assisting with low-cost, high-volume public vaccination and microchip clinics
Qualifications
-Current state licensure as a certified/registered/licensed veterinary technician
-Must be able to routinely carry 25lbs and up to 50lbs
-This position requires standing, stooping, bending, and lifting for several hours at a time

-Prior experience working in a shelter setting a plus

Benefits & Compensation
Signing Bonus
WHS is currently offering a signing bonus of up to $1,000. Eligible hires can earn $500 after 90 days of employment and additional $500 after 6 months for a total of $1,000!
Compensation & Benefits: WHS offers CVT’s a very competitive starting salary of $17.84/hour and provides financial support for continuing education and license renewal. Full-time staff are eligible for up to 2 weeks of Vacation, 1 week Paid Time Off, and 6 paid Holidays after 45 days of employment as well as the following benefits on the first of the month following 60 days of consecutive employment after their full-time hire date:
